Fast Freddy

Monday – Friday

2:00PM – 7:00PM

Birthplace: Born in Boston, Raised in Radio!

How you got into radio:
Long ago I interned for the legendary Program Director Sunny Jo White, which led to a part-time promo gig at 94.5 WZOU & the name Fast Freddy.  The next thing I knew I was their full-time Events Coordinator & On-Air personality.  I LOVED Radio & lived at the station.  In November of 2005 I began working here at MIX with Gregg Daniels and Sue Brady, weekday afternoons.

What’s on your iPod:
iPod?!  I listen to the radio man!!!  I love all kinds of music but have always loved rhythm.  Rock too but beats make me wanna move!  Everything from Alicia Keys to my friend and mentor, the late Vinnie Peruzzi.  Miss you Vin! 11:11!

Favorite website: Duh, this one!

What you’d be doing if you weren’t in radio: I’d be the funny guy working at the Deli or the Cab Driver with the jokes. (both are jobs I’ve actually had)  Seriously I’d be either a comedian or a cop.  I passed the police exam, was on the list for the job, but when they called I chose to stay in radio.  So far, no regrets!

Favorite beverage: A large Dunks French Vanilla Iced Coffee or a Captain & Diet no fruit.

August 21st LEO!

Favorite TV shows: You don’t understand I am crazy, I watch everything.  2 DVRs, pretty much doubled booked every night.  Currently HEROES is my fave!  The Office, Earl, Rescue Me, Friday Night Lights, Desperate Housewives, The Closer, SNL, The Simpsons, Nip Tuck, I’ve been an American Idol head since I hugged Kelly Clarkson backstage at The Kodak Theater the night she won the first finale.

Favorite food:
Since infancy steak, a New York Strip.  Mmmmm.  Also, as a chubby youth, I developed an addiction to Doritos.  I am happy to say, that now as an adult it is manageable and under control, you may still find me with orange finger tips from time to time.

Favorite movies: The Champ, The Outsiders, Little Darlings, Foxes, Grease, Saturday Night Fever, Rocky, Star Wars, All John Hughes flicks, The Money Pit, Stripes, Officer & A Gentleman, Stand By Me, Less Than Zero, The Usual Suspects, My Cousin Vinnie, Dazed & Confused, The Ref, American Beauty, I could go on forever…

Most embarrassing moment:
Oh I’ve got more of these than movies, but here’s the first one that comes to mind.  I was back stage at The Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas & Cher was coming down the hall and the crowd parted like the Red Sea, I didn’t realize that as I was backing up, I somehow knocked Leanne Rhimes to the ground, didn’t know until I saw her looking up from my shoes.  OOOPS!  I helped her up and apologized, red faced, then ran off to meet Cher.

All time favorite concert: That’s tough!  Madonna or Prince.  Seen & loved both many times for many years.  Maybe being onstage with Bon Jovi, Duran Duran, or Jay – Z.  Loved many U2 Shows, Fleetwood Mac, Tailgating at the Monsters of Rock or the Grateful Dead’s last show at Foxboro Stadium.  Lolapalooza with the Beastie Boys, The Breeders, George Clinton and the P-Funk!  That’s without even getting into all the awards shows or intimate smaller shows.  Cmon, I work in Radio, I could never pick just one!!!

Happy belated! In your bio you didn’t mention the time you spent on the Star 93.7 morning show. You called in as one of your characters(Mrs ?) and then became an on air DJ.
