For military families, having their loved ones home for the holidays is something they can only hope for and dream about.
Well, 3 Doors Down made that dream a reality for one lucky family during a benefit concert in Mississippi.

The benefit show was made possible by The Better Life Foundation at the Horseshoe Casino in Tunica, Mississippi over the weekend.
Amber Raymond, wife of Sgt. Edward Raymond, was picked to draw raffle tickets but had NO idea what was actually in store for her.
“I was nervous because they told me I was drawing tickets, but I was kind of upset because I didn’t know he was coming home and I wanted him to be here for this,” said Amber.

After being stationed in Iraq for nearly a year, Sgt. Edward Raymond had actually been home for a week but had to sneak around town and keep the secret from his wife, which wasn’t easy he admitted.
“I’ve actually been home for a week,” said Edward Raymond.
“Oh my God, a week?”, responded Amber Raymond.
The war veteran also said, “I’m so glad to be home with these girls” and that he will cherish this opportunity of being home with his family for the holidays.
“We were promised we’d be home for Thanksgiving and they made it happen, so we’re all happy.”
And we are too! Congratulations and thank you for your service!
