The 2004 show was held for the third straight year at the Fleet Center on Saturday, September 18th. The Fleet Center would change its name a year later and it is now known as the TD Garden. 2004 marked 12 years of MixFest’s existence in what was long being recognized as a favorite fall pastime in Boston.
The lineup for that year included the piano-based rock of Five For Fighting, John Mayer, Maroon 5, Tex-Mex band Los Lonely Boys, The Calling, Canadian alt-rocker Alanis Morissette AND Lenny Kravitz — after all, we are “Boston’s best variety.”
Lenny Kravitz closed out the show and “swaggered in” at 10:45pm, finishing off his set with “Are You Gonna Go My Way?” — according to one local writer.
Our very own Erin O’Malley shared with us a story about how John Mayer tried to pick up her co-worker at MixFest 2004! Did it work? Check out Erin’s MixFest Memory below!
Question For You: What are some of your memories from MixFest 2004? Also, with MixFest 2013 right around the corner, which act are you most looking forward to?
