Mix104.1, and previously Mix98.5, has been a Boston institution now for over two decades. And perhaps no other artist has done more for the station, especially in terms of live performances, than Gavin DeGraw.

No stranger to the city of Boston (“I spent 2 semesters here at Berklee”), Gavin DeGraw was back for his third Mixest on Saturday, and let’s just say he didn’t disappoint. The Mix veteran wowed the audience with his blue-eyed soul vocals, freewheeling melodies, and earthy charm, showcasing songs from his new album (due out in October) and playing his back catalog as well.

This past July, Gavin DeGraw celebrated the 10th anniversary of his debut album Chariot – to which I heard one concertgoer say to her friend, “Wow I can’t believe it’s already been a decade.”

At the end of his performance, Gavin thanked Mix for yet another concert and called Boston his “home away from home.” And from a Boston perspective, we’re happy to have you back Gavin…see you soon!
