Warning: We may need Zack Morris on standby, because Saved By the Bell fans are about to get excited…like SO excited.
It’s been 23 years since Jessie Spano had her diet pill freak-out. Luckily, Zack Morris and his perfectly quaffed hair intervened before any real damage was done.
Saved By the Bell was the first sitcom to ever touch upon drug use, and focusing the story around a straight A student who wanted to study and be in a girl group (Hot Sundae), was a pretty wholesome approach toward the need for
speed diet pills.
But the things that were happening backstage, may not have been so PG. At least not according to Dustin Diamond, AKA “Screech.”
You may remember when Diamond’s tell-all book, Behind The Bell, came out in 2009. The book talks about what life on set was like, and it conveniently focuses on the rest of the cast and how they were all sleeping together and dabbling in drugs.
And we thought “The College Years” was the lowest point in their lives.
Well, according to Buzzfeed, Diamond’s tell-all book is turning into a Lifetime movie and it’s going to be called “The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story.”
In addition to his book, hours of brand-new interviews were conducted for the film in order to break down the 4th wall for the audience. And after you watch the movie, you will supposedly never see Saved By the Bell in the same light again.
Don’t miss the movie’s premiere on the Lifetime channel, September 1st at 9PM!
