The last time we saw Vance Joy, he was opening in front of 60,000 people at Gillette Stadium for Taylor Swift’s 1989 World Tour.

Now he’s coming back to the Boston area to play MixFest at the DCR Hatch Memorial Shell in Boston on September 19th.

Gregg Daniels caught up with him to discuss the thousands that will be on-hand for his performance along the Charles River this year.

“I’ve had some great experiences. I’ve played Boston Calling, and the crowd there was amazing,” Vance Joy told Gregg.

“I remember the last show I did – it would have been November/October of last year – the crowd was so great, they knew so many of the songs and they were singing the words back so loud and I was like, ‘I love Boston!'”

Vance Joy tells us that Boston is one of his favorite places to play, and he’s really looking forward to being on the bill with Rob Thomas, Third Eye Blind, Andy Grammer, and Rachel Platten.

Watch above as Gregg plays word association with him using these artists.
