Vance Joy’s summer has been spent in stadiums as the opening act for Taylor Swift.

In fact, he left Taylor in Columbus, Ohio after performing with her the night before MixFest.

Getting put out on stage in front of thousands of Swifties is trial by fire, isn’t it?

“Definitely. Huge crowds. I’ve gotten a lot of enjoyment and there’s so much joy in the crowds,” Vance Joy told Erin O’Malley. “But also, I’ve learned a lot about performing and having fun on stage and just being yourself is the answer.”

After playing the Charles River Esplanade for us here in Boston, he’s heading back out on the road with Taylor Swift before starting his own solo tour next year.

He’ll be back in Boston at the House of Blues on April 1st with Jamie Lawson.
