Country singer Jamie Lynn Spears is opening about what it was like to be “the child star who got pregnant” in a new special on TLC. The special, titled Jamie Lynn Spears: When the Lights Go Out, will premiere on June 26th, but we’re getting a sneak peek of it this morning.
“A lot of horrible, nasty things were said,” Jamie Lynn says in the trailer, which kicks off with clips of harsh criticism from press at the time. “Britney Spears‘ teen sister is pregnant.” “Nickelodeon must be furious.” “Jamie Lynn is having a baby. I mean, what was she thinking?” “How careless.” “No one will know her in six months.”
The promo features Jamie Lynn’s daughter, Maddie, her older sister Britney, and her parents. “I’m not just a child star. And I’m not just someone’s sister. And I’m not just a teen mom. For the first time, this is the real story,” Jamie Lynn narrates.
