From his appearance on Beyonce’s Lemonade to early Florence and the Machine remixes, the Weeknd has proven that he’s game for collaboration. According to reports, next up on the R&B superstar’s lineup of collaborators is Daft Punk. Wendy Goldstein, executive vice president of Republic Records, told Billboard that the recording sessions are on her personal radar—a juicy tidbit she dropped in an interview about her record-business career.
“Well actually, we have a session coming up in two days with The Weeknd and Daft Punk, and I’ve always been a massive Daft Punk fan,” she told the publication. “This is the first time I’ve been involved with an artist who’s going to go and work with them.”
That info was dropped last month, so by now that mystery session has likely taken place. Nevertheless, the prospect of the Weeknd working with Daft Punk (or vice versa) should be enough to keep fans talking.
