Gwyneth Paltrow is rethinking how she went about her “conscious uncoupling” from ex-husband and Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin.

In an recent interview about her lifestyle website,, Paltrow reflected on announcing her split publicly online.

“It was an incredibly personal statement and you know, at that time, Goop wasn’t the size it is now, there were a lot less people. It was a very, very personal project for a long time, and I wrote in the first person all the time,” Paltrow told LinkedIn. “At the time, it was still very small and very personal.”

“It was such a difficult time in my life and I was trying so hard to protect my children and my family, Chris included,” Paltrow continued. “We were both fragile. It was really tough. To me it felt like this is a quiet way to do this and it is contained.”

Paltrow explained that there is a vast difference from the Goop of 2014 and the Goop of today, and that she would have second thoughts about posting about her “conscious uncoupling” two years later.

“It sort of wouldn’t be appropriate now,” she said. “It is a much bigger business and I’m not sure it would be the right place to do something like that. I’m not sure. That’s a good question.”
