Elle’s October Miley Cyrus cover issue hasn’t hit the stands yet, but we’ve already learned four things about the actress/singer thanks to a sneak peek of her interview. Part of the enlightenment included Miley’s relationship with Britney Spears.

While she and Britney aren’t besties, Miley cares about Brit Brit’s well-being. “[My manager Adam Leber] works with her,” she told Elle. “We’ve stayed close because of that.” However, not too close. “She’s a little distant in her world,” Miley explained. “I just want Britney to be happy. Every time she puts out new music, I’m like, ‘Is that what she wants to be doing? Or does she just want to chill?’ She’s looking so good right now, and looking happy.”

Britney does look happy, and when she taught dance lessons over the weekend, the pop icon glowed. Watch Ms. Spears shine in her element here.

Miley Cyrus also talked to Elle about red carpet events and Snapchat, both of which she doesn’t participate in — one by choice, and one by default.

Clearly, Miley has done the red carpet before. But after her appearance from the A Very Murray Christmas premiere, she never wants to step foot on the carpet again. “[A year ago] I had to do the [A Very Murray Christmas] premiere, and I will never do a red carpet again. Why, when people are starving, am I on a carpet that’s red? Because I’m ‘important’? Because I’m ‘famous’? That’s not how I roll. It’s like a skit—it’s like Zoolander.”

As for Snapchat, Miley just doesn’t get it. “No. I want to be [on Snapchat]. I don’t know how to use it. I feel like I’ll be an old lady that’s too held back, because I don’t keep up with it.” I never thought I’d say it, but I can totally relate to Miley Cyrus.
