If it’s on the Internet, it must be true, right? WRONG. Rumor has it that Adele will be playing a free show in Boston tomorrow thanks to a fake Facebook event. We hate to break it to you, but unless you have tickets to her show at the TD Garden, you won’t be seeing the English singer perform on September 14th.
The Facebook account for “Usual Suspects DJ” has a history of creating fake concert events in Massachusetts, but for some reason, a bunch of people actually took their event for a free Adele concert seriously, and the MBTA Transit Police is not happy about it.
The event, which is advertised as happening tomorrow, September 14th at 6:00 PM, claims to be taking place at the Quincy Center MBTA with special guest Train (get it?). After several people took the event seriously, and 306 RSVP’ed “going”, the MBTA Transit Police took to Twitter to shut down the rumors.
Unfortunately, the Red Hot Chili Peppers won’t be performing at Whole Foods in Weymouth with special guests Korn and the Cranberries either…
