Why OneRepublic Thinks MixFest Could Have Had Supernatural Consequences

Before headlining MixFest, the guys of OneRepublic sat down with the morning show, and helped Kennedy break her record for the most men she had ever been alone with in the same room.

They also reflected on Mix 104.1’s choice of diverse lineup for Mixfest, before getting into gambling (or not gambling) and what playing at a late night show in New York City is like. According to frontman Ryan Tedder, putting Ingrid Michaelson, Shaggy, and OneRepublic on the same bill could have had supernatural consequences. “This is the most bizarre lineup I’ve ever seen in one festival,” Ryan said. “We have to give props, because when we saw Ingrid Michaelson, and Shaggy, and then us… I don’t know what’s going to happen, like if the world’s going to explode.”

Speaking of Mixfest, the set design in our backstage tent reminded the band of late night and talk show gigs in New York City. Although it’s hard to imagine, according to them, our backstage setup was just as big as the permanent sound stages in New York.
