A new trailer for the movie Patriots Day, which tells the story surrounding the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, has been released.

This trailer is much more in depth compared to the first trailer released at the beginning of October as it dives into the search for the bomber suspects. According to NBC Boston, “the film, in which Wahlberg portrays a fictional composite representing the actions of several police officers in the aftermath of the bombing, was directed by Friday Night Lights director Peter Berg.”

In an interview, Berg revealed that he is, “drawn to stories about people behaving under extreme duress and finding courage and heroism of some sort. The way Boston responded to that horrific bombing was similar to the way New York responded to 9/11… to the way Nice responded and how Paris and Tampa have responded. It’s unfortunate that it’s becoming the new reality in the world that we live in.”

The film starring Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman, Kevin Bacon and J.K. Simmons will be released on December 21, 2016.
