STOP RIGHT NOW! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

2016 is the 20th anniversary of the release of the Spice Girls’ groundbreaking, debut single “Wannabe.” Their music altered the stated of the entire globe — they were the most iconic girl-group ever!

On July 8, 2016 — the official 20th anniversary, Geri Horner (Ginger Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), and Melanie B (Scary Spice) posted links via their Twitter accounts to a video. Complete with the three of them…in different locations…they revealed, “we wanna celebrate and have a party, and when we do…you’re all invited! Thank you!” as part of this anniversary. Something kinda funny is going on!

It was rumored the original 5 members, GEM + Melanie C (Sporty Spice) and Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), would be doing SOMETHING for the milestone, but Posh — to no surprise — said she would not join, and then Melanie C dropped out too.

Today we have been (not) gifted with the demo track “Song For Her” which is the first taste of GEM (Geri-Emma-Melanie) the world has heard. It’s just not what we expected…even when they released “Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)” and “Voodoo” for their Greatest Hits / reunion tour back in 2007 the tracks were much better!

According to Digital Spy, “the verses of ‘Song For Her’ swell to triumph over a loss of identity – maybe a reference to fellow Spice Girls Victoria Beckham and Mel C opting out of any reunion?”

TBH we’re gonna need all 5 members back ASAP to give us what we want, what we really really want.
