Fashion Designer Christian Siriano Offers to Make Much-Needed Coronavirus Masks

March 20, 2020

Amid warnings from Gov. Andrew Cuomo that the state's stock of medical supplies is running dangerously low as the coronavirus pandemic grows, fashion designer Christian Siriano has offered up his design house's staff to produce masks -- and Cuomo has welcomed the offer.

"If @NYGovCuomo says we need masks my team will help make some," Siriano tweeted Friday afternoon. "I have a full sewing team still on staff working from home that can help."

Cuomo responded to his tweet, writing, "Thank you. Please follow back and we will DM you."

Vice President Mike Pence said producing more masks is a top priority.

“We vastly increased the supply of medical masks and we'll continue to put a priority on making sure we are calling on industry at every level, calling on major suppliers that the president met with this week to make sure those equipment are there,” he said.
