How Jennifer Lopez Paid Tribute to Kobe and Gianna Bryant at Memorial

February 25, 2020

One month after the tragic helicopter accident in which Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven others died, friends and fans alike came together in Los Angeles to celebrate the lives of the NBA Champion and his daughter, a rising basketball star.

The event at the Staples Center on Monday was filled with touching tributes from musicians like Beyoncé and Alicia Keys, emotional speeches from friends of the family like Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal, and many celebrities were spotted in the crowd throughout the course of the memorial.

Jennifer Lopez and her fiancé Alex Rodriguez were among the attendees of the celebration of life. Prior to the memorial, Lopez shared a close-up picture of her manicure, in which she honored Kobe and Gianna Bryant.

Her nails were painted cream with gold flecks, and on her index fingers she included the numbers 2 and 24. JLo kept the caption short and sweet, posting the two jersey numbers and two emoji hearts in the Los Angeles Lakers’ colors, purple and yellow.

On the day of the crash, Lopez posted several pictures of herself with the Bryant family on Instagram, writing a message to Bryant’s widow in which she shared that “the most unfair thing in life is to lose a child and husband on the same day. Vanessa, I pray for your strength and that God guides you each step of the way through this unimaginable heartbreak.”
