Katy Perry on Reconnecting With Taylor Swift and Baby Bump Crop Tops

Katy gets candid

July 23, 2020

Never too shy to get a little candid, Katy Perry revealed new details about her recently rekindled friendship with Taylor Swift. On Tuesday, Perry dialed in to chat with Howard Stern. The two covered a range of topics, from her upcoming album Smile (due out August 14), to her burgeoning belly, and how and why her and T-Swift finely put an end to their very long and public feud.

Katy explained that she and Swift wanted to set "an example" for their younger fans by publicly putting their differences aside. Noting that the media played a large part in controlling the narrative at the time it all went down, “gossip in life can take the elevator but the truth takes the stairs.”

After years subtle jabs and sub-tweets the feud that inspired chart topping songs like Swift’s “Bad Blood” and Perry’s “Swish Swish” finally reached an end. The pop princesses came together last June, wearing a matching cheeseburger and fries costume set in Taylor’s colorful music video for “You Need to Calm Down.”

The soon to be first-time mom shared that she and Swift are now "super friendly.” Admitting, ”I always wanted the best for her and now we can talk about the best we want for each other.”

Perry and Stern went on to chat about her battle with depression, particularly during her time off writing her music, "It was more than I had ever faced in my life,” she said. As well as why she thinks wearing a mask is just the right thing to do. Check out the full interview here.

Nowadays, Perry is focusing on the release of her fifth album, Smile, along with the arrival of her baby girl with actor Orlando Bloom.

Just days ago, Perry proudly put her baby bump on display with an Instagram post to her 102 million followers, in a shameless plug to show off some new merch. “Never too pregnant for a crop 💁🏼‍♀️ and never too good for a mask 😷 Get ur #SMILE game on (tho don’t forget darling #Daisies🌼) and head to the link in my bio for your merch”

We happen to agree wholeheartedly with Katy on this one, as crop tops occupy about 80% of our wardrobe. But if you’re with us on this one and crop tops just aren’t your thang, Katy made sure to also have plenty of regular length options too. Check them all out here.
