For those who don't know, Taylor Swift called out Scooter Braun for purchasing her former record label, Big Machine Records. This now means Scooter has ownership of a majority of her masters.

Swift also claims Braun has been "bullying" her for years so it was exceptionally difficult to hear that he is the one that gained control of her masters.

Celebrities such as Halsey, Iggy Azalea, Todrick Hall & more have come out with public statements in support of Taylor. Where Taylor and Ed Sheeran have been so close for so long, in the age of social media fans seemed to expect a statement from him.

Many fans have been attacking Ed for staying silent, but Ed decided to respond to one comment.

The comment on Sheeran's Instagram account read, " "Why don't you leave him in peace with that Taylor thing? Just because he didn't post anything it doesn't mean he is not supporting her, maybe he's talking with her right now, who knows. You aren't allowed to doubt their friendship just because he didn't say anything on the social, cause they're not real life. Maybe he's the one who has supported her the most, because they're best friends and he didn't waste time writing on Instagram what he could have said directly to her."

Ed simply responded, "I have been speaking directly to her, like I always do."

There you have it! Friends don't need to prove they are friends on social media!
