Aretha Franklin Is "Gravely Ill" In Detroit Hospital

The singer canceled scheduled tour dates earlier this year.

According to Rolling Stone, Aretha Franklin is "gravely ill" in a Detroit hospital. 

Evrod Cassidy, a friend of the singer, tweeted out about her condition after a reports had surfaced late last night. "I spoke with her family members this morning. She is asking for your prayers at this time."

Back in March the singer had canceled all scheduled tour dates, per doctors advice, to “stay off the road and rest completely for at least the next two months.” 

Aretha Franklin was the first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame  back in 1987 and has also amassed 18 GRAMMY awards. She is the definition of a legend!
