Kim Kardashian-West Is Changing The Name Of 'Kimono' Shapewear After Backlash

Last week, Kim Kardashian-West made headlines yet again.

This time it was due to her new shapewear line called Kimono -- it's a play on her name. The inspiration for the line came from years of cutting and crafting other shapewear lines to fit her desired style.

Immediately after the launch fans, and people all over the world, began criticizing her for the name Kimono. Many beleived that it was cultural appropriation and that she was capitalizing off Japanese culture. The mayor of Kiyoto even sent Kim a letter asking her to reconsider the name and using it in a trademrk due to its rich heritage.

Today, the reality mogul took to social media to let fans know that she has decided to change the name of her shapewear line. On Twitter, she stated, "I am always listening, learning and growing - I so appreciate the passion and varied perspectives that people bring to me."

Despite the change, many people on Twitter were still not happy with the entire situation. Regardless, many of her fans responded with support and that they are looking forward to the launch. Check out her full response below.
