Matthew Reid

Mon-Fri: 7PM - 12AM

A native New Englander, Matthew began hosting his own weekly radio show in high school when he was 14 years old. Matthew took the afternoon show at Y100/Philadelphia from 13th to #1 in his first rating period and stayed in the top spot for several years before being recruited to help launch a new Top 40/Pop station in Washington, DC where he hosted a highly rated and award winning afternoon show. Matthew spent close to a decade out West where he was the Assistant Program Director/Music Director and afternoon host at Kiss 106.1 /Seattle and then held the same position at Z95.7/San Francisco. Both of his kids were born in SF, and although they loved California, they missed home more and returned to Boston in 2009 when Matthew joined Mix 104.1! A hardcore coffee addict, Matthew can always be seen with a cup in hand. He loves everything Dunkin’ Dark Roast, Cumbies, Mary Lou’s and Starbucks, but his favorite coffee shop in Boston is the Sugar Bowl in Dorchester. He also has a morning coffee routine that involves a Chemex pour over glass container, precision burr grinder, spring water and everything from mail order boutique roasted beans to Trader Joe’s bulk beans. (Can you say obsessed?) Matthew loves photography, Scrabble and spending as much time as possible at a remote cabin somewhere in the White Mountains. A diehard Music and Boston sports fanatic, he can often be spotted making a fool of himself at local games or enjoying live performances — especially at small rooms all over the city. He is active in the community including coaching his son’s basketball and football teams, volunteering at the kid’s schools and mentoring young people in several forums. Matthew also volunteers as the Audio Director at Grace Church in Avon and sees his most important and rewarding job as being the proud and devoted father of two awesome kids, Arianna and Emerson.
